The Amplex company produced the original Trombolite rotating table lamp in the United States during the 1950s. While the model typically came with a table mount, a version with a heavy freestanding base was also made, although it is less common. The lamp features a rotary switch that can control both its light sources: a 22W T9 ring fluorescent lamp and a standard lamp with an E27 thread. Nowadays, new LED replacements can be used as alternative sources. The lamp has been refurbished and is available for purchase, with three currently in stock. A transformer for EU voltage is included with delivery.
